Sound Artist and Composer Samm Anga presents ‘Re: wa_xen’, an audio visual installation. The installation focuses on the visual storytelling of a longer audiovisual live performance work currently in development. The basis of ‘Re: wa_xen’ forms the staging of the show ‘Waxen Figures’ which explores Gaelic folklore and spirituality.
Samm Anga is a Sound Artist and Composer based in Aberdeen. An MA Sound Arts cohort from the London College of Communication, he designs sounds for a myriad of experiences. Scoring work for short films, BBC The Social, and BBC New Creatives, he seamlessly infuses his sonic finesse into multimedia. He also creates live audiovisual performance work with Cryptic, Glasgow.
His current work finds him constantly questioning the multi-faceted identity of sound in the Anthropocene. After a transitory upbringing, he straddles the ever-complex tussle between Western and Indigenous values, science and spirituality, futurism, and nostalgia.
